According to filings submitted by Broadcom to the SEC, the company has reached a long-term agreement with Google to participate in the design and supply of future versions of Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) for Google’s next-generation AI accelerators. Broadcom will also provide networking equipment and key components for Google AI data centers, with the partnership extending through 2031. TPUs are the core of Google’s self-developed AI chip ecosystem, widely used in both model training and inference. This collaboration marks Broadcom’s transition from a traditional chip supplier to a provider of AI-customized solutions, significantly increasing its involvement in cloud AI infrastructure.
In parallel with deepening its collaboration with Google, Broadcom has expanded its partnership with Anthropic. Under the agreement, starting in 2027, Anthropic will obtain approximately 3.5 gigawatts of TPU-based AI computing capacity through Broadcom, officially entering the multi-gigawatt deployment stage. Previously, Broadcom’s management indicated that Anthropic’s computing demand in 2026 would be about 1 gigawatt, with expectations to exceed 3 gigawatts in 2027, highlighting rapidly growing demand driven by generative AI applications. On the business side, Anthropic is also expanding rapidly. The company disclosed that its annualized revenue in 2026 has surpassed $30 billion, up sharply from about $9 billion at the end of 2025; meanwhile, the number of enterprise clients spending over $100,000 annually has exceeded 1,000, doubling in a short period.
Industry observers widely view this collaboration as indicative of AI supply chains accelerating toward upstream computing and chip segments. Large-scale model training still heavily relies on NVIDIA GPUs, but tech giants, including Google, continue to advance proprietary chips to reduce costs and strengthen technology control. In this trend, Broadcom—equipped with ASIC design capabilities and networking infrastructure advantages—becomes a key link between cloud providers and AI model companies. Meanwhile, companies like OpenAI are also pursuing custom chips and diversified computing systems, intensifying industry competition.
Wall Street analysts expect Broadcom’s AI-related revenue from Anthropic to reach approximately $21 billion in 2026 and further rise to $42 billion in 2027. Although specific amounts have not been disclosed in the latest filings, based on the scale of computing and partnership duration, AI business is poised to become an important growth driver for the company. However, the market also highlights risks: AI computing demand heavily depends on the commercial progress of models and enterprise spending cycles, meaning order fulfillment may face uncertainties if growth slows.Overall, as AI enters the stage of ultra-large-scale deployment, Broadcom is leveraging its deep partnerships with Google and Anthropic to steadily strengthen its core position in the global AI infrastructure landscape.
